Well, the photos have uploaded out of order and I suppose I'm a bit on the tired side and so this isn't going to be in any sort of chronological order, but hey! it's an update, right?
Logan has been in gymnastics each Friday since the first of January, and the kid LOVES his "gym class" even if it doesn't look like it. The boy is all-or-nothing, so there are some things he flat out refuses to do. However, if he chooses to participate in the task or skill you can bet that he's pretty much spot-on in his ability. As one of the youngest in his class, he's been asked by a few of the coaches what his age is... as if his abilities don't quite line up with him being three years old. If he would only participate in everything they ask him to do, and maybe smile once in a while!
Preschool is out for the summer, and my mom and I are going to do "Wacky Wednesdays" with the boys until school starts again. Each Wednesday we'll take the boys somewhere fun - sometimes something big, but often something simple. Our first Wacky Wednesday was today, and we spent the morning at the neatest park in town, affectionately called the "train park." After we had sufficiently played, sweated, and finished all the water we brought with us, we headed over to a local McD's for lunch. Future Wacky Wednesday plans for the month of June include a trip to the Houston Children's Museum and to the Noah's Ark Children's Pool.
Our slip-n-slide has already been put to good use this spring. It's hot already... I can't begin to imagine what August will be like, but I can tell you this - I am SOOO glad that I'm not pregnant this summer!!!! Hallelujah! haha. Funny thoughts aside, it's definitely been an odd spring for weather patterns. The recent tornados to sweep through Missouri and Oklahoma this week have commandeered much of my attention and prayers. I spent the summer of 1999 in Joplin and still have many friends in that area, so the destruction is hard to stomach. Facebook has kept me updated on all of them, and I am so encouraged and proud to call these people friends - they are coordinating many helping efforts in that area to clothe, feed, and shelter people in their community. They are truly being the hands and feet of Jesus to so many who are hurting and needing hope.
Caleb "graduated" from preschool last week! He's so ready for kindergarten, but we will all miss his incredible teachers that he had this year. Ms. Lori, in the center, is a rockstar. She's a kid magnet - all of the kids in the class are drawn to her, and she's done an amazing job of increasing his already huge appetite for learning. Ms. Anne and Ms. Joanne are pretty stinkin' talented, too. I'm already looking forward to Logan and Toben enjoying their years with these sweet ladies as their teachers!
Geez. Time just keeps moving faster and faster... One day in the not so distant future he'll be standing there in another cap and gown, and maybe giving another "gig 'em" to the camera. ;)
